Gezyath-degè Fêqê (/ˈvɘp˔ɘ/ /ˈdegè/ [external] [fluke]) is a subtropical Town located in the Nonaba Zone of the Union of Engineers.
The name Gezyath-degè Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Gezyath-degè Fêqê was founded by Tsêv Garënm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Gezyath-degè Fêqê receives an average of 73 cm/y (28 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Gezyath-degè Fêqê covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 9062 m (-13218 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Gezyath-degè Fêqê was founded durring the late 10th century, by Tsêv Garënm. The establishment of Gezyath-degè Fêqê was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Gezyath-degè Fêqê's construction back out of the project. Tsêv Garënm pushed on reguardles, and Gezyath-degè Fêqê was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gezyath-degè Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê is buildings are speckled and packed arround premissive cobblestone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Gezyath-degè Fêqê's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. Unfortuantly, these top tier civilian fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.
The town shows nothing out of the ordinary, at first glance. Then you start to notice all the small things. Each window has seven iron nails pounded into the sill. Every door has a sprig of holly overhead. Every well is branded with purity seals and runes to ward the contents. Everyone is carrying a small charm for safety or fortune, be it a rabbit’s foot, a horseshoe, or other little totems.
Civic Infrastructure
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Gezyath-degè Fêqê.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Gezyath-degè Fêqê's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Gezyath-degè Fêqê has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in Gezyath-degè Fêqê they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. Gezyath-degè Fêqê's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. Gezyath-degè Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves gestures to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 3 via speaking in tongues.
